Primeiro mês em Israel

Pois é, eu estou morando em Israel há um mês já (mas por causa da correria associada a se mudar de país, não tive tempo de escrever nada sobre isso ainda).
Como eu estive em Israel antes, acho que o choque não é tão grande ao se mudar para cá (apesar de que dirigir aqui é sempre uma aventura, e que as pessoas aqui são, erm, um pouco mais estressadas do que os brasileiros). O maior problema aqui é o idioma, mas como estou tendo aulas no trabalho, essa barreira tem sido gradualmente eliminada (mas admito que tu se sente um retardado tendo que aprender o alfabeto de novo).
Quanto ao trabalho, tudo tranquilo. Para facilitar ainda mais a vida, todo mundo na empresa tem sido super simpático, e o grupo de brasileiros que trabalham lá (e moram no mesmo prédio que eu) facilitam bastante na tarefa de se habituar a vida aqui. Semana passada fui a Eilat com alguns colegas (as fotos estão disponíveis aqui).

While not a job search site itself, glassdoor.com is a good way of evaluating which companies will you apply for. And by forcing you to post reviews in order to access the whole site without having to re-open your browser, they guarantee that not only disgruntled employees will post the reviews (although I gotta admit that many reviews are a bit sour… specially the ones too close to home).
Delayed update

So turns out that thanks to El Al, I’ve had to change my return ticket to January 30, instead of January 23. Of course, I’m terribly sad I’ve had to extend my vacations.
I’ll just be able to post my pictures online when I return home, since I don’t want to clog up my uncle’s connection, but some pictures from the first 10 days with Taglit can be found here.
Later on I’ll write something more detailed about the whole trip.
Vacations

For the first time in a few years, I’ve managed to take a month off work.
On December the 29th I’m taking my plane to Israel, where I’ll spend the first 10 days with the Taglit program, and then on my own. My plans include flying to England to meet Sir Tocaio, and then bravely travel into Scotland. I’ll be back in Porto Alegre on January, the 24th.
